| I picked (no pun intended) this as my "featured deviation because it depicts me as an artist without guessing my style, my into, my thing! I've always been a pack rat, but now.... I work with what some would call the under belly of society, I call them super heros well scrapers for short. They make a VERY small living off of garbage picking, dumpster diving, picking up a fridg. that someone said they should take, they recycle the different metals, ie. copper pays this much a ton. (well lb.) a ton of copper would be alot of electrical cords. tin pays this much, aluminum this much and so on.... so they may be corp. drop outs or slackers but there anything but lazy! They work pulling heavy motors out of things, demolition moble homes, strip wire, search out metal, follow leads, well you catch my drift. So they barely sqeek out enough for everyday living not to mention monthly dues like: rent, utitilys, insurance (yeah right) so They have to work double time all the time. In there quest for a living these people are in huge part saving the earth! Scrapers coast to coast save millions of tons of metals from going to the landfills, the metal then gets recycled, which creates jobs for everyone from the scraper, the guy at the scale, the cashier, the sorters, drivers, mechanics, then to all the refinery workers, the distrubetars, manufactors, inventers, advertisment, well you get my drift! So Because of scraping, & My art has always been more of: out of a "nesisity is the mother of invention", RUN WHAT U BRUNG, just cause its a wrench doesent mean you cant use it as a hammer, I remade dressers into desks, old pink tolits into flower pots ect. AND MY REBELLIOUS "SAVE THE EARTH, WIPE YOUR ASS WITH A VOTING BALLOT" AND HERES THE LONG AND SHORT, THE "WHAT YOU BEEN WAITING FOR" THE PUNCH LINE, I'M A HUGE "FAN" OF SCRAPER-SUPER-HEROS, RECYCLING, RE-USING, RE-FUSING, RE-WORKING, RECLAIMING, RE-NEWING, AND RELOVING. AND THE BIGGEST "FAN" OF EARTH! |
